HOMELESS


As you walk on by
you see me sleeping on the street
39 degrees
and I got nothing to eat
Cardboard blankets
and newspaper clothes
I hide my face from the people I might know

Hobo, beggar, lazy, thief
How many names can I keep
Vagrant, junkie, lowlife, scum
So many names but I choose one

When I see myself
I haven't shaved in weeks
I have to sleep in the park
because the alleyway stinks
My train of thought goes away
that's why I can't keep a job
But when I'm asking for change
and then you call me a slob

So when your day is done
and you get to go home
You shower get into bed
